Zachary Domes

The New York Photographer Underdog. Zachary Domes is a Photographer based out of New York City. Living in a big city, the freelance photographer has big competition, often leaving his work overlooked. I made it my goal to give Zachary an edge over his competition, and also to encourage the viewing of his awe-inspiring portfolio.

Goal number one was to give Zach’s potential clients an experience that they wouldn’t forget. I wanted Zach’s name to be the first in the business-owners mind when they needed a photographer. I turned the viewing of his portfolio into a unique unboxing experience, something that stands out next to the dozens of other portfolios that get sent weekly to an Art directors desk. Inside the carefully crafted package, the recipient is greeted with A5 physical prints of his nearest and dearest work, a space to communicate a unique sentiment to the potential client, a custom USB and SD card both holding the digital versions of each featured image so Zach’s work can easily be shared.

Having Zach’s actual prints featured was important, it gave way to an engaging, tactile form of experience. Flicking through physical prints is not only a much richer, romantic engagement than viewing his work on a screen, it enables the viewer see the photos exactly the way they were intended by Zach. His website was a perfect forum to let his work speak for itself. Leaving only a 10% portion for navigation allowed for his work to stand as hero in a distraction free environment, all while allowing for an easy way to explore every inch of his portfolio.
